Florida: History, People and Politics (IDS2194) is an internet-based,
interdisciplinary, college-credit course designed to lead students,
at their own pace of study, through five self-contained course units.

Florida as a State
Florida Today
Florida's Economic Development
Each unit provides students with
A syllabus outline of goals and objectives
An overview of unit subject content
A list of study topics
Suggested study procedures
Specific unit assignments, including
reading, writing and special project assignments
Identification of a variety of resource
and reference materials, including internet
links, enrichment readings and access to
a glossary of significant terms and concepts.
On-line help and assistance from your instructor and technical
staff
This
course is "a labor of love" produced by faculty and staff
at Tallahassee Community College, in conjunction with the
Florida House of Representatives. Technical support and resources
have been provided by the Florida Department of State, the
Florida Center for Interactive Media, the Florida News Channel
and the Florida Community College Distance Learning Consortium.
The primary project faculty have been: Vicki Cole, History;
Mark Goldman, History; and Richard Murgo, Political Science.
