Florida Natives
The native peoples of Florida were culturally diverse. The Apalachee of northern Florida cultivated grains and maize while the Calusa of southern Florida relied heavily on coastal marine resources for their food sources. Yet these cultures coexisted in relatively peaceful relationships before the arrival of the Europeans.
